From that point until today, I had been checking the oil roughly every 4 days. Today, I was getting ready to make 100 mile (one way) trip to get my dog from the eye doctor. Get in my car, start it up and notice white smoke in the rear-view. It got a little colder that night, so I let it idle for a while. It didn't stop smoking. I pop the hood, check my oil and it's about a half a quart shy. Fill it up again and now I'm waiting for a vehicle swap.
2 things I do know.
1. There is no anti-freeze in the oil and no oil in the anti-freeze.
2. The oil is not leaking to the ground.
Can it really be burning oil that fast? That doesn't seem right. The car has 112,000 miles on it. It just got new spark plugs, wires and coil. It also had the gasket under the supercharger replaced as well as the valve cover gasket. The car still runs strong as far as no noises, except for the alternator rattle. (Know where I can get an OEM alternator and not pay dealer prices? Current one is a replacement and doesn't fit entirely right. That's why I have a rattle.) The coolant had been completely flushed and it now no longer runs Dex-Cool.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
