The L26 is suppose to have a different length rods from the previous years from what I read. With the rods different but the stroke the same thenthe piston is
where the length was adjusted...

yea....thats the only way.....so it has to be piston length........im lost at finding specs for the l26 i've searched everywhere.....other than the clatter i've read from clubgp and stuff i already know(very little detailed) stuff from searching with .......maybe we'll find something sooner or
later....that way if this comes up again later we'll have the info

Got some info for you guys on the L26 pistons I got it from a guy who is building a L26 as we speak for his car and is the one everyone is pointing me to for
getting info and has a huge thread for it with a sh!t load of pics in it. Here is what he said about the L26 stuff................................
The L36/L26 has higher compression than L67/L32 for one reason only: because the piston has a shallower dish. The crank, bore and stroke are identical. The connecting rods are longer on L36/L26, but that is because the connection point to the conn rod is lower down the bore on the L67/L32 (to accomodate the deeper dish, I suppose). Hope that clears up a little bit of what you wanting to know.

Since the pin position is different you need the compression height or the piston will travel too high and hit the head. Here is a place that will make what
you want or you might just be able to call them to get the info:

I was just trying to help you out with finding a forged piston for the high compression supercharged engine you want to build...

Yeah I think I will stick with the pistons that are in it for now. On a side note, a set of brand new diamond forged pistons went for a steal on eBay today and
sold for about $122.50 + shipping or something like that.

If there are ever any updates I will just put them up. And you should already know and that is the fact that I have never neen able to find a way to get the
motor to me for the build. That is the only thing I am worried about right now.

The l32 is stronger internally than the L26, but the L26 has higher compression ratio, so if you can mod it with o knock, you will have a more powerful motor.
Most of the guys on OQCGP just built up L36 motors. Cheaper to buy and you get more power with the same mods as when you mod an L67. You can't have any
knock though. The NA motors cannot tolerate knock nearly as well as the blown motors.
Basically, you can take an L26 and an L32 put the same mods in each and the L26 will be quicker. The L32 will be stronger and more reliable, but at the expense of slightly less output. HTH. I didn't read through all 6 pages of posts, but that is generally why guys mod the NA motor. ![]() "Drive it like you stole it" New build mods:Aeroforce V2.2,CAI, PS headers, custom cat back, custom tune, AL 104's, XP cam, JP double roller, 105# valve springs, HD locks and retainers, 42.5# injectors, ported LIM, ported/polished heads, ported/polished SC inlet and outlet, 3.4/3.0 Nate Herbst MPS, rebuilt tranny, Alt Rewire, Fuel Pump Rewire, Custom Exhaust Cutout...and more -------www.gtpnation.com-----www.gtpworld.com----- |
